“Why Use Our Resources This Way?”

What is the message about? . . .

If you have been on social media at all, it is certain that you have seen a meme that reads something like: “Why are we helping group A, while group B needs help?”. I wonder if the person posting has done anything to help either group, or if they are just making this comparison to avoid any responsibility to do the right thing. Doing one good thing does not mean that you can’t do another. Doing the right thing is not a mutually exclusive endeavor. In a very interesting gospel story today, the question of how to use resources comes from the mouth of none other than Judas, the ultimate betrayer of Jesus. Some scholars believe that this incident may have even been his motivation for turning Jesus over to the authorities. Jesus’ response made him angry. Join us Sunday for more!
