Luke 4:14-21
Epiphany 3C, January 26th, 2025
What is the message about? . . .
Isaiah is the most quoted of the ancient prophets in all the New Testament. Scripture from this prophet was often read and quoted in first century synagogues, and for the Jewish people it spoke of the hope in the coming messiah. Jesus is preaching in synagogues all over Galilee, and his reputation is beginning to precede him. When he goes to his hometown of Nazareth to speak, he makes a bombshell, mic drop, statement. He is ready to fully begin speaking about just who he is. Not everybody will be ready to hear it or believe it. We’ll dig a little deeper into what Jesus said, and how it changes human history forever. See you Sunday!
