Luke 6:17-26

What is the message about? . . .
Luke describes the teachings of Christ in his story of the sermon on the plain. Healing, cleansed spirits and awesome displays of divine power. Then a spoken message outlining three manifestations of blessing, and three areas of great sorrow and distress. What brings on these highs and lows? Multiple gospels contain these elements of Jesus teaching, so we know that it was well known to Jesus' earthly followers. If we wish to be followers of Christ, this passage provides a foundation upon which to build our faith and understanding.
